At Northpointe Bank, we believe your career should empower you — to grow, contribute, and find purpose. We’re hiring a Director of Quality Control to lead our Quality Control department and ensure a culture of quality across the Bank.
This role is ideal for a proven leader with deep mortgage industry experience, a strong grasp of agency and investor guidelines, and the ability to drive operational excellence in QC processes, reporting, and remediation efforts.
What You’ll Do:
Oversee QC processes to ensure alignment with investor requirements and the Bank’s Quality Control Plan
Manage escalated QC loan reviews, including investigations, fraud reviews, early payment defaults, and FHA rejected mortgage applications
Maintain current knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, USDA, VA, and FHLBI guidelines; ensure QC procedures remain compliant
Prepare timely management reports on QC findings, trends, and corrective action plans
Oversee reporting and tracking for all origination and servicing repurchases, providing monthly updates to management
Partner with operational leaders to address root causes and implement workflow improvements
Manage investor and agency responses to QC findings, deficiency notices, and repurchase demands
Lead, train, and develop QC staff; oversee staffing, performance reviews, and professional growth
Maintain and update SOPs, work instructions, and reporting templates
What You Bring:
Minimum 15 years’ experience in the financial institution or nonbank mortgage industry
At least 10 years in QC management, quality assurance, and mortgage operations
Current knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, USDA, VA, and FHLBI loan programs and guidelines
Strong background in compliance, agency requirements, and mortgage operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and mortgage/banking software
Exceptional leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Proven ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and deliver superior results
