SMX is seeking a Director of Quality to lead and enhance its enterprise-wide quality management system. This individual will ensure alignment with industry certifications, customer expectations, and internal performance standards. The role requires close collaboration across departments to foster a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) supporting ISO 9001, AS9100D, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, and CMMI ML-3 standards.
Define, report, and monitor KPIs to drive performance, efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Conduct internal audits and coordinate external certification and client audits.
Collaborate with engineering, delivery, operations, and leadership teams to embed quality practices across project lifecycles.
Drive corrective and preventive actions, root cause analysis, and risk assessments.
Deliver training to ensure company-wide understanding and ownership of quality standards and expectations.
Champion a continuous improvement mindset, identifying and deploying process enhancements.
Enhance documentation protocols, risk and change management strategies, and compliance monitoring efforts.
Required Skills/Experience:
7+ years of experience in quality assurance, process management, or compliance leadership-preferably in IT, defense, or systems engineering sectors.
Proven expertise with ISO 9001, AS9100D, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, and/or CMMI ML-3.
Deep understanding of regulated environments-cybersecurity, cloud, digital transformation, and defense solutions.
Strong auditor credentials (e.g., ISO Lead Auditor) and experience working with external certification bodies.
Excellent communicator and influencer-able to guide cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
Master's degree or equivalent in Quality, Engineering, Systems, or Project Management is preferred.

The proposed salary for this position is:
$174,800-$233,100 USD
