Job details As the Director of Programs, you'll be a proven program leader in a dynamic setting, overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of all youth programs at the our client's nonprofit organization. Responsibilities: Program Design & Oversight: Develop, implement, and monitor all Urbana Youth Center Programs based on success, interest, and availability, in consultation with the executive team. This includes creating proposals for new programs and seeking Board approval when required.
Collaboration & Partnership: Cultivate collaborative relationships with community organizations, individuals, and local schools to develop programs of interest and expand the nonprofit's reach and impact.
Program Coordination: Schedule and coordinate the full lineup of programs to ensure year-round access to a robust offering of diverse and engaging programs.
Team & Program Supervision: Oversee and support the supervisor of the Homework & Study Assistance (HSA) Program and the High School Equivalency Program (HSEP), ensuring success within these initiatives. Lead the nonprofit study group effort through the HSA program.
Engagement & Behavior: Directly work with guests to ensure a safe, engaging environment. Lead and carry out the behavior program in accordance with the Policy and Procedure Handbook (PPH), ensuring guests understand and follow the rules.
Grant Support: Consult on grants, and in some cases, research, write, apply for, and execute grants to secure program funding.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with executive-level management in the development of goals and long-term plans to maximize guest success and organizational growth, upholding integrity and maintaining a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
Team Leadership: Supervise, set goals for, and review the performance of any subordinates or volunteers as necessary.
Working hours: Various Shifts Available
Skills: Degree or certification in an education or human services field.
Experience with budget and business plan development.
Superior negotiation skills in both internal and external settings.
Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software.
Education: Bachelors
Experience: 1-4 years
Qualifications: 3+ years experience in program management, education, business administration, development, or a related field. Proven program experience in a highly dynamic setting, including success in educational or childcare environments.
Strong organizational and planning skills with excellent follow-through on tasks and goals.
Masterful communication and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success.
Ability to work with and motivate staff, board members, and volunteers.
Self-starter and goal-driven, capable of independent work while collaborating effectively with an executive team.
Comfortable with guest engagement and behavior management.
Sincere desire to further the nonprofit's mission, relentless work ethic, and compassion.
