We’re looking for a visionary Director of Product Management to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of our hardware device portfolio—from early concept through mass production, market launch, and post-launch sustainment. This is a rare opportunity to shape innovative, high-performance mobile hardware products and accessories used in mission-critical healthcare, industrial and enterprise environments. The Opportunity This role goes far beyond typical product requirements and roadmaps. You will of ruggedized and enterprise-grade mobile devices—from vision and strategy, market performance and profitability, industrial design and component sourcing to hardware firmware compatibility, regulatory compliance, manufacturing optimization, and field performance. Working with electrical and mechanical engineering, QA engineering, software product management, as well as operations, marketing, finance, legal, sales, and customer support, you’ll be accountable for delivering not just great ideas, but high-quality, reliable hardware products that scale. What You’ll Do Product Strategy, Definition & Roadmap Deeply understand market trends to formulate compelling and innovative hardware product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
Work cross-functionally to define hardware products that drive value for customers, are loved by users, and that work for Spectralink’s business and are both technically feasible while leveraging what is just now technically available.
Evangelize product management best practices to create compelling holistic solution definitions and contextually share the product story from high-level vision and strategy to detailed development of hardware requirements that integrate and meet the needs of an end-to-end solution, while always ensuring that market value, user experience, and business viability are incorporated into everything we build from the smallest detail to overall market impact.
Balance complex trade-offs between cutting-edge innovation, ergonomics, cost, durability, manufacturability, and performance with market and user needs, alongside long-term product lifecycle considerations.
Create compelling value-based product roadmaps that optimize strategic value over level of effort both tactically in the short term and strategically over the long term.
Go-to-Market Develop and implement effective go-to-market strategies including market segmentation, pricing, and positioning, direct and channel approaches. Collaborate with marketing, sales, operations, services, and the executive team to maximize product launch impact and ensure full operational readiness on day 1 of product launches.
Design & Engineering Collaboration Lead concept ideation and guide cross-functional design reviews with Industrial Design (ID), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Electrical Engineering (EE) teams across end-to-end product development.
Drive alignment on form factors, materials, thermal management, ingress protection, antenna performance, environmental tolerances, and more, in balance with innovative solutions to meet emerging market needs.
Develop detailed hardware requirements that integrate and meet the needs of an end-to-end solution
Ensure brand-consistent aesthetics and user experience across hardware platforms and accessories.
Supplier, Manufacturing & Quality SelectODM/OEM partners and component suppliers.
Support contract negotiations and contract management in collaboration with product, engineering, and operations leadership. Manage statements of work (SOW) and change orders. Ensure ODM/OEM partners are compliant with contract terms and support appropriate remedial action when needed.
Drive ODM/OEM project schedules in concert with internal software teams and suppliers to ensure they meet or exceed product requirements and that company objectives are met on time and budget. Work with operations to ensure timely sourcing, procurement, and production readiness, including certifications (FCC, CE, and compliance testing.
Collaborate with Operations for audits, tooling, ramp readiness, and end-to-end supply chain quality.
Manage relationships with large hardware platform providers (. Qualcomm) on roadmaps, support, and escalations. Lifecycle & Sustaining Management
Manage product transitions, including End of Life components (EOL), alternate sourcing, Bill of Materials (BOM) updates, and cost-down initiatives.
Ensure hardware is compatible with firmware across generations of devices and accessories.
Support hardware security, policy compliance, and provisioning frameworks across various enterprise deployment scenarios.
Incorporate long-term product lifecycle management into product strategy and planning to include licensing and support costs and third party dependencies.
Key Focus Areas Depending on the device line, areas of responsibility may include: Enterprise-grade mobility : barcode/RFID integration, cellular and wireless protocols: WiFi, BLE, Bluetooth, sensor technology, hot-swappable batteries and or new battery technology, rugged accessories, industrial connectivity, or AI edge compute capabilities, and compatibility with enterprise mobile management (EMM), and universal endpoint management (UEM).
Unified device ecosystems : Charging docks, mounting solutions, scanners, and wearable accessories, fully integrated into operational workflows.
What You Bring 10+ years relevant experience.
Educational background: A bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a similar field, and or relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of Product Operating Models (POM), program governance and lifecycle management.
Strong leadership and communication skills and ability to drive decisions at the executive level.
Strong business acumen coupled with great product instincts and a strong ability to manage tradeoffs between market impact, product desirability, design feasibility, business alignment, and long-term product planning
Proven experience owning the full lifecycle of a hardware product—from concept to manufacturing and field support.
Deep understanding of electrical and mechanical product development, including design for reliability (DFR), manufacturability (DFM), and test (DFT).
Proven experience working directly with ODM/OEM partners and global supply chain teams to deliver new products. Prior experience with Qualcomm and Google Android is highly preferred.
Ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Familiarity with enterprise environments, deployment tools (., MDM, provisioning frameworks), and software-hardware integration.
Healthcare experience and prior experience with medical devices and or Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is a bonus.
Strong project management skills with proven track record of delivering products from a cross-functional team, including offshore ODMs and contractors.
