Let’s do this! About the Role Here's your chance to: Carbyne is seeking a passionate and experienced Pre-sales Engineering Director to lead and develop our high-performing US Pre-Sales team. As a hands-on leader, you will be critical in driving sales success by guiding your team and actively participating in technical pre-sales activities, customer engagements, and solution design. Here’s What You’ll Be Doing Direct the Sales Engineering efforts, leading technical resources to assist the Sales team in winning new customers and maximizing revenue. Provide coaching and mentorship to the team members. Manage PreSales engagement requests from Sales - assess, prioritize, load balance work across team Develop and refine processing to decrease sales cycles, speed deployments, and deliver high customer satisfaction. Actively participate in pre-sales activities, conducting engineering site evaluations, designing solutions, and leading workshops with prospects Build strong relationships with customers, understand their needs, and architect solutions that meet their requirements and work with internal and external stakeholders. Drives continuous improvement in the pre-sales process by developing documentation, best practices, and training materials. Works effectively with cross-functional teams including Sales, Product, Operations, and Engineering. Interpret complex problems, create simple solutions and collaborate closely with prospects, channel partners and our sales team to deliver winning solutions Requirements What You Bring To shine in this role, you’ll need: 5+ years of experience leading and managing pre-sales technical teams A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Telephony, LAN networking, IT infrastructure engineering, with in-depth knowledge of firewalls, routers, and network protocols (BGP, MPLS, IPv4/6, etc.). Proven ability to actively participate in technical pre-sales activities and customer engagements beyond team management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and senior leadership. Willingness to travel to customers' locations within the US up to 35% of the time. Bonus Points: Experience within the public safety industry (ENP, ESInet, E911, NG911). Knowledge of PBX platforms (Cisco, Avaya, Open Source) and radio systems. Experience with network monitoring tools (SNMP, Syslog) and AWS Cloudwatch queries. Understand common IP technologies used in analog gateways (SIP, RTSP, RTMP) and scripting languages (Windows PowerShell). Feeling unsure because you don’t check every box?
