Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a multi-year site security roadmap aligned with corporate risk appetite, regulatory expectations, and operational resilience priorities.
Operational Oversight: Lead day-to-day site security operations across a global footprint, including access control, visitor management, guard services, and surveillance systems.
Risk & Compliance Management: Conduct risk assessments, audits, and vulnerability reviews; ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards (e.g., SEC, FINRA, OCC, PCI DSS) and internal policies.
Incident Response & Resilience: Direct response to security incidents, threats, or emergencies; coordinate with crisis management, technology, and business continuity teams to minimize impact.
Technology & Innovation: Oversee deployment, integration, and lifecycle management of physical security technologies (CCTV, access control, alarms, analytics). Explore emerging solutions to enhance protection and efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business leaders, facilities, HR, technology, and legal to ensure security considerations are embedded into site operations, expansions, and employee engagement.
Law Enforcement & Regulator Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact with external law enforcement, regulators, and industry security forums.
Budget & Vendor Management: Develop and manage security budgets; oversee global vendor contracts to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
Team Leadership: Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing global site security team. Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and customer service.
Qualifications & Skills
Strong command of physical security principles, standards, and technologies within regulated industries.
Deep experience in risk assessment, threat management, and regulatory compliance specific to financial services.
Exceptional leadership and people-management skills, with a record of leading distributed global teams.
Strong crisis management and decision-making ability under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; adept at influencing executives and engaging diverse stakeholders.
Strong vendor management and contract negotiation expertise.
Analytical and data-driven, with experience building metrics and reporting for executive stakeholders.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree required in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Relevant certifications strongly preferred: CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), CISSP with physical security emphasis, or equivalent.
Emergency management, crisis leadership, or business continuity certifications a plus.
Experience
10–15 years of progressive security experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-site or global operations.
Direct experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred.
Proven track record of leading security programs that meet regulatory, audit, and client expectations.
Demonstrated experience integrating security with business continuity, technology, and operational resilience.
Strong background managing budgets, contracts, and large vendor relationships.
