Director of Perioperative Services
The Director of Perioperative Services will join a DNV-accredited, not-for-profit, critical access hospital known for its dedication to personalized care and safe patient outcomes. We offer a full range of inpatient and outpatient services with strong community roots and a track record of high patient satisfaction.
The Director of Perioperative Services reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and works closely with executive leadership and the OR governance committee to promote and restore optimal patient outcomes. Provides both administrative and clinical oversight, including guiding staff education, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, mentoring new nurses, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. Responsible for budget preparation, managing staffing, and working closely with providers, staff, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure a seamless surgical experience for patients. Oversees and manages the perioperative departments at TriState Health including: surgical services, anesthesia services, pre-procedure clinic, post-anesthesia care unit, sterling processing and the same day specialty services unit.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field is required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in perioperative services.
Licensures/Certifications:
- Current RN license in WA State of nurse compact/multistate license.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS), Advances Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advances Life Support (PALS) certification at hire and maintained.

- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards in perioperative care.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to the perioperative departments.
- Implement and execute strategic plans to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- Allocate available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe and compassionate care based on current standards of practice.
- Responsible for the financial management of the perioperative departments, including annual and capital operating budgets.
- Assess and improve the overall efficiency of each department, including OR case scheduling, block scheduling, and overall OR utilization.
- Assure processes and programs are in place to support the achievement of patient satisfaction and service quality goals.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture within the department and organization, acting as a role model through the demonstration of professional development, continuous learning, and competency improvement.
- Contribute to the development of departmental and organizational strategies.
- Act as a leader and mentor for staff in Just Culture, TeamSTEPPS and Culture of Safety programs.
- Provide support, education, and collaboration to department supervisors.
- Monitor and assure contracts are up to date and in place.
- Other duties as assigned.
