Position Summary The Director of Operations and Field Services will play a critical role on the executive management team, leading shop and field operations for custom-engineered safety systems. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for ensuring project execution, team development, production efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You’ll oversee resource planning, employee performance, and process improvement across field services, engineering, and manufacturing operations to support rapid company growth.
Key Responsibilities Partner with the President and leadership team to execute strategic initiatives and achieve performance goals
Oversee and optimize day-to-day production flow, ensuring schedule adherence and delivery reliability
Lead field service operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and on-site project execution
Drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and operational efficiency through employee engagement and process analysis
Oversee manufacturing operations and collaborate with engineering to ensure clear communication of technical specifications
Evaluate and enhance manufacturing processes, reducing costs while improving productivity and margins
Provide hands-on leadership in both field and shop environments when needed
Support vendor relationships and production control to maintain material availability and workflow
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required
5–10 years of progressive experience in operations management, field services, or project execution
Strong understanding of machine controls; PLC/HMI experience preferred
Proven success in managing engineered-to-order or custom job shop manufacturing environments
Skilled in coordinating field installations and delivering technical projects on time and on budget
Familiar with production control systems and vendor management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); CAD experience a plus
Hands-on, proactive leadership style with a strong mechanical aptitude
Willingness to travel 25–50% as needed
