We are partnering with a fully integrated real estate developer in Columbus, Ohio, who are seeking an accomplished Director of Operations to join their leadership team. This organization is known for delivering end-to-end solutions across commercial, mixed-use, multifamily, and industrial projects , managing the full lifecycle from development and design through construction and asset management.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a seasoned operations executive to oversee project delivery, drive operational excellence, and play a key role in the strategic growth of the business.
The Role As Director of Operations , you will: Provide executive leadership and oversight across all active and upcoming commercial development projects. Implement strategies to streamline operations across preconstruction, construction, and post-construction phases. Lead and mentor project managers, superintendents, and field teams, ensuring best-in-class project execution. Monitor budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery. Partner with ownership, finance, and development teams to align operational priorities with business goals. Develop and enforce company standards for safety, quality, and compliance. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred). 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial construction or real estate development. Proven track record delivering large-scale commercial projects ($10M–$100M+). Strong operational management background with the ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects. Experience working for a developer, design-build firm, or fully integrated contractor highly desirable. Excellent leadership, financial acumen, and strategic planning skills. Strong communication and relationship management abilities at all levels.
