DIESEL TECHNICIAN DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS Reports to:  Managing Director, Williamsburg, VA  Job Description: The Director of Operations is responsible for the overall operations of the shop, including management of staff, inventory, finances and budget, the maintenance of equipment, and the provision of quality service to customers. This position will work Monday through Friday, during regular business hours with some extra hours required to be successful in the position. This is a working shop position, not a desk supervisor position. Requirements:  ❖ Maintain high quality repairs and minimize comebacks, and conduct checks of completed jobs for quality ❖ Oversee diesel shop and schedule technicians to tasks on a daily basis  ❖ Manage technicians including hiring, training, and evaluating  ❖ Ensure all work is completed and meets all quality and safety standards  ❖ Uphold all safety standards and regulations including auditing for compliance and monthly safety meetings ❖ Minimize downtime and drive timely service by prioritizing work on a daily or weekly basis  ❖ Monitor operation expenses  ❖ Develop long and short term goals and provide direction for the team through team meetings ❖ Have knowledge of DOT rules and regulations  ❖ Must be experienced in heavy diesel engine diagnostics and repairs  ❖ Work with Parts Advisor to always be improving the overall profitability of each job and the shop overall ❖ Keep current on new equipment or tools and recommend purchases to diesel technicians  ❖ Knowledge and use of computer aided diagnostic software and hardware is a must  ❖ Make customer satisfaction a priority, ensuring office staff are courteous and respectful  ❖ Handle customer complaints immediately and according to TEI/Colonial Truck and Trailer guidelines ❖ Attend quarterly management meetings  ❖ Approve employee time records and time off requests  ❖ Maintain a safe and working environment  ❖ Responsible for overall condition of the shop and shop equipment  ❖ Any other duties as assigned by the President Benefits:  ❖ Medical, Dental and Vision insurance coverage  ❖ Medical insurance (paid 100% by TEI at 5 year work anniversary)  ❖ Life insurance policy   ❖ Simple IRA with TEI matching contribution  ❖ PTO, Holiday, and Bereavement pay  ❖ SIGN-ON BONUS WITH EXPERIENCE E04JI800i19n407rpj1
