The Role
We're seeking a seasoned, strategic Director of Operations to serve as the integrator of the business—translating the founders' vision into reality through operational clarity, team alignment, and execution. You'll be responsible for ensuring that Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams are all working in sync to achieve measurable outcomes.
This is a 1099 contractor position for an experienced operator who thrives in a fast-paced, founder-led environment and can independently lead cross-functional execution while maintaining high profitability (target: 60% margins). You'll own the company scorecard, align priorities across departments, and ensure strategic initiatives—like our biannual GrowthCon event—are delivered on time and on budget.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Strategic Operations & Execution
Build and manage the company's operating system (leadership meetings, scorecards, accountability charts)
Translate high-level vision into 90-day priorities and departmental action plans
Ensure cross-functional execution without founders needing to step into the weeds
Data, Reporting & Revenue Operations
Own and manage the company scorecard (revenue, churn, CAC, LTV, margins)
Oversee reporting automation, dashboard accuracy, and commission tracking
Use data to drive forecasting, budget planning, and growth strategies
Sales & Marketing Alignment
Partner with Sales Managers and Marketing to optimize lead → close pipeline
Oversee handoffs across departments to ensure a seamless student journey
Monitor ad spend, ROI, and funnel performance
Customer Success & Retention
Support Head of Customer Success in achieving ≤3% churn and strong renewal rates
Ensure systems and staffing are optimized for student outcomes
Align community and coaching initiatives with retention and referral goals
Finance & Resource Management
Collaborate with the fractional finance team on P&L management, budgets, and margins
Approve hiring plans, vendor contracts, and expense strategies
Identify opportunities for cost efficiency while scaling sustainably
Process & Systems Optimization
Build SOPs and scalable workflows across departments
Evaluate and improve tech stacks (CRM, automations, dashboards, etc.)
Eliminate bottlenecks and drive efficiency across the org
High-Impact Projects
Oversee operational execution of major launches and GrowthCon (2x/year)
Ensure events, campaigns, and initiatives are executed profitably and aligned with company objectives
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Annual revenue growth: $12M–$15M
Net profit margin: 60%
Monthly churn: ≤3%
Sales performance: Set → Show → Close rates
Project on-time delivery & budget adherence
Team efficiency, automation usage, and reporting accuracy
Who You Are
Experience
5+ years in Director, VP, or senior Ops roles—preferably in coaching, SaaS, or online education
Proven success scaling a business past $10M+ while maintaining high margins
Hands-on experience with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams
Strong command of business metrics, forecasting, and execution
Skills & Tools
Deep operations and systems thinker
Strong with analytics, automation tools, and CRMs (e.g., HubSpot, Airtable, ClickUp, etc.)
Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making under pressure
Comfortable managing up and partnering directly with founders
Why This Role Matters
You'll be the glue that keeps everything moving—from strategic planning to daily execution. Your ability to lead through structure, drive efficiency, and scale systems will directly impact GO!
