Description Director of Operations & Compliance The Director of Operations & Compliance provides strategic leadership, oversight, and accountability for both operational excellence and regulatory compliance at Mt. Sinai Wellness Center. This role is responsible for managing daily non-clinical and non-medical operations while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and accreditation requirements. The Director develops, implements, and monitors systems that support safe, ethical, and efficient organizational practices, fostering a professional, client-centered environment aligned with the mission and values of Mt. Sinai Wellness Center. Operational Leadership Oversee daily operations across residential treatment centers, sober living facilities, and support departments (Maintenance, Housekeeping, Dietary, Patient Engagement, Recovery Support/Operations, Quality/Regulatory, and Recreation). Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute long-term strategic goals. Standardize and improve operational processes to maximize efficiency, client satisfaction, and staff engagement.  Assure quality performance and regulatory compliance. Provide leadership in budgeting, financial oversight, expense monitoring, and cost-control initiatives. Support hiring, recruitment, and onboarding of key management and operational staff. Partner with cross-functional departments (Billing, Admissions, HR, and Clinical Leadership) to ensure alignment of services and objectives. Address client and personnel concerns, implementing corrective action or performance improvement plans when necessary. Compliance Leadership Develop, implement, and oversee the Compliance Program to ensure the organization adheres to all federal, state, local, and accreditation standards. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential compliance risks and operational vulnerabilities. Implement and operate secure, retaliation-free reporting channels, including anonymous reporting systems. Ensure hiring and promotion practices include compliance screenings for sensitive and high-responsibility positions. Collaborate with Human Resources to align compliance with performance management, training, and employee development programs. Provide input and oversight in the development of policies, procedures, and compliance manuals. Coordinate with internal/external legal counsel on compliance investigations as needed. Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reports and quality assurance performance indicators to the Executive Director/CEO. Develop and facilitate compliance training and continuing education for staff, contractors, and affiliated providers. Ensure safe and clean environment of care, ensure equipment preventative maintenance is completed as per TJC, CARF, and state regulatory bodies.  Ensure vendor maintenance schedule adherence to meet accreditation and state regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (advanced degree preferred). Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare/residential operations and compliance leadership. LCSW, LPC, RN, or LPN preferred (may substitute for years of experience). Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements. Proven track record managing multiple operational departments with effective leadership and team-building skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to complex and dynamic regulatory environments. High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and ethical decision-making. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, EMR systems, HRIS, and compliance reporting tools.
