Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Director of Nursing for a 13-week travel assignment in College Park, Georgia. Required Qualifications:
One year of recent experience as a Director of Nursing
Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
ACLS Certifications
Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Summary:
A Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and operations of their healthcare facility. This role encompasses strategic planning, policy development, staff management, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant patient care. The Director of Nursing collaborates with other healthcare leaders to enhance operational efficiency and nursing excellence.
Essential Work Functions:
Manage and lead all nursing personnel operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards
Develop and implement short and long-term goals for the entire nursing department
Oversee recruitment, retention, and professional development of nursing staff
Monitor departmental budgets, manage expenses, and ensure financial compliance
Communicate with families, physicians, patients, and staff to address concerns and enhance collaboration
Establish staffing ratios and evaluate nurse performance to promote accountability and professional growth
Develop, revise, and enforce policies to improve patient care standards and ensure compliance with best practices
Collaborate with other department leaders to integrate nursing services with broader facility operations
Manage crises and address patient safety concerns, implementing risk mitigation strategies
Ensure the nursing unit is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
