Responsibilities
The Director of Nursing is a key member of Hampton’s Senior Leadership Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric nursing strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The DON participates in the hospital’s strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. The Director of Nursing will focus on 5 key areas: People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance. Some of the job responsibilities are as follows:
Working closely with medical staff and other departments to ensure efficient operations.
Establish the professional and ancillary staffing needs required on each unit for an optimal level of care.
Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
Directs Performance Improvement initiatives for all clinical services
Develop policies and procedures according to established standards of nursing care.
When Patient Advocate is unavailable facilitates resolution of complaints/grievances/requests by patients and visitors in accordance to legal and regulatory requirements. Work with patients to help them navigate and understand Hospital policies, insurance issues and other questions.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Current License in the State of NJ
Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
Master of Science in Nursing
Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
Three or more years of progressive nursing management experience in behavioral health setting is strongly preferred.
