This includes oversight of clinic processes such as intake, triage, patient education, patient flow, onsite diagnostics, care teams, care coordination, and coordinating clinical programs to remain in compliance with federal regulations. This position involves supervision and organization of two Assistant Nurse Manager, staff nurses, volunteer nurses, medical assistants, and others involved in caring for patients.Daily Operations Supervises nursing staff (paid and volunteer)Supervises use of equipment, supplies and medications, ensuring staff has thorough training and understandingOversees the organization of the triage process for walk-in patients and of the system for handling the phone line for nurse calls Performs routine specialized procedures and onsite diagnostics such as venipuncture, catheterization, POC INR, and sterile dressing changes under established protocols; teaches others in these same procedures Performs or assists in procedural care requiring complex nursing skills and clinical judgment Notifies primary physician, as appropriate, regarding unusual or unexpected events/problems requiring direct physician consultation Oversees the medical supply inventory and purchasing process Educates and advises the nurses regarding specific medical issues within established protocols Reviews the patient schedule to ensure appropriate nurse support and supplies Oversees the immunization program including vaccine storage and monitoring, emergency vaccine storage, and completes application for VFC as needed at new clinic sites Staff Management Works with Human Resources to coordinate all aspects of hiring, counseling, performance evaluations, and progressive discipline procedures for nursing staffProvides cross training, when appropriate, for nursing staffOversees orientation of new staff and volunteers according to departmental guidelines, and regularly evaluates staff nursing competencyEnsures that all nursing staff and volunteers understand clinic policy and department proceduresSchedules nursing staff for efficient clinic operation and makes daily assignmentsWorks with EMR super users to train nursing staff to effectively use the EMR and adjust basic nursing processes in AthenaOrganizes and assigns Siloam staff/volunteers to various roles using monthly, weekly, and daily calendarsOrganizes continuing education for nursesOversees care teams and care coordinationResearches and implements staff retention strategiesOther DutiesWorks with the Chief Medical Officer and COO to maintain an effective Quality Assurance programWrites, implements, and annually reviews clinical policies and proceduresWorks with CMO to manage clinic and nursing budget and create nursing goals for grant applicationsEvaluates nursing processes to help meet medical visit goals (including delegation of tasks to nurses, appropriate nurse/MA/provider ratios, etc.)Leads Pipeline Development by creating sustainable avenues for recruiting future nursing staff, including attending career fairs and other recruitment opportunitiesCoordinates partnerships with educational programs for nursing students, including clinical rotations of nursing students at Siloam Health and presentations on Siloam's workPractices in a professional and ethical manner and maintains appropriate current knowledge of health care advances and marketplace changesParticipates in on-going quality improvement (QI) activities within the roles defined aboveWho We Are Looking ForWe value having an experienced team to provide whole-person care for our patients.
