POSITION TITLE: Director of Nursing Administrative Services REPORTS TO: Chief Nursing Officer CLASSIFICATION: Exempt POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Nursing Administrative Services provides direct support and liaison to the Chief Nursing Officer, providers, and other professional staff in the implementation of quality patient service delivery that focuses on both the external (patient) and internal (employee) customers within the community the organization serves. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Director of Nursing Administrative Services may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons. Works with Directors of Sites to develop as well as implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Missouri standard of nursing guidelines and serves as interim Director of Sites as indicated Provides resolution of clinical nursing, medical assistants, and patient facilitator staff problems, and directs unresolved problems to the Chief Nursing Officer, and/or Corporate Compliance Officer; implements and monitors ongoing staff development plan Actively participates in the Quality Assurance and Improvement Committee (QA/QI); develops agenda and conducts monthly departmental and nursing Directors meetings; participates in committee meetings as required Reviews and recommends employment applications while ensuring ongoing appropriate nursing/support staff staffing patterns and skills levels as well as coordinates activities, and evaluates the performance of medical nursing assisting students who intern at the Health Centers, and coordinates activities of all other types of students and contracts related to the paraprofessional nursing internship; conducts employment interviews as indicated Develops and promotes programs such as training workshops, conferences, and school or community presentations along with the supervision of professional and technical staff in implementing health programs, objectives, and goals. Other job Duties Plans and insures implementation of educational in services on a quarterly basis for clinical nursing, medical assistants, and patient facilitator staff Assures adequate staffing across all sites Monitors and manages clinic service flow and appraises administration of any issues Makes weekly site visits to ensure quality care. Monitors timely reporting of all required reports so as to meet deadlines as required Principal Accountabilities: Develop and maintain patterns of education libraries, conducts, and/or coordinate health needs assessments and other public health surveys to provide resources for staff and community agencies Provide guidance to agencies and organizations in the assessment of health education needs, and in the development and delivery of health education programs while maintaining cooperative working relationships with agencies and organizations interested in public health care Oversees all phases of the occupational health clinical programs including the preparation and distribution of health education materials, including reports, bulletins, and visual aids such as films, videotapes, photographs, and posters as well as documents activities, records information and maintains databases, mailing lists, telephone networks, and other information to facilitate the functioning of health education programs The incumbent is a permanent member of the Safety Committee and the Infection Control Committee. Must possess management skills as demonstrated by education and experience. He or she must possess appropriate licensure as required. The Director of Nursing Administrative Services position will collaborate with the Director of Nursing, consumers of health, and civic groups to determine community health needs and the availability of services and develop goals for meeting those needs. May also serve as a resource to assist individuals, other professionals, or the community, and may administer fiscal resources for health education programs. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master’s degree in Nursing preferred Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Experience: A minimum of 3 years of general nursing experience required A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in clinical setting required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must maintain and update technical knowledge and skills Must have good leadership and teambuilding skills Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills Must possess good computer skills (Microsoft Office and electronic health record software Must have a proven track record of managing support staff with the community-based outpatient ambulatory health care facility Must have the ability to function independently and supervise subordinates equitably Transportation Requirement: Must have Reliable Transportation Supervisory Responsibility: This position supervises RN’s, LPN’s, RMA’s, RD, Nurse Educators, referral coordinators and patient facilitators Additional Eligibility Qualifications (licenses, programs, certificates, pre-employment check and post and annual screening(s) Copy of degree or Official Transcripts from an accredited School of Nursing required Copy of diploma or Official Transcripts for Bachelors and/or Masters degree Copy of Current RN License in the State of Missouri required Current Registration with the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry Annual PPD or Chest X-Ray Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates) Current RN License in the State of Missouri required.
