KVC Health Systems is seeking a visionary and experienced Director of Nursing Practice & Operations to lead clinical nursing functions across our inpatient psychiatric hospitals. This is a remote position with regular travel required to support hospital sites and nursing leadership teams across the system.

Salary: $100,000/year – based on education and experience.

About the Role

The Director of Nursing Practice & Operations is a key system-wide leader, providing strategic and operational direction to nursing teams at all inpatient sites. You will oversee clinical practice, lead site-based nursing leaders and the nurse educator, and ensure trauma-informed, high-quality care is consistently delivered across all hospitals. This role also plays a vital part in regulatory compliance, staff development, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide operational leadership for all inpatient nursing functions

  • Ensure consistency in execution of nursing policies and clinical standards

  • Supervise and guide the Nurse Educator and site-based nursing leaders

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, assess clinical metrics, and drive performance outcomes

  • Mentor and coach nurse leaders across the system

  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care

  • Support and participate in site accreditation processes and internal committees

  • Stay up to date with electronic health records and HR systems to support clinical and leadership responsibilities

  • Travel as needed (day and overnight) to support site operations and leadership

What We’re Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required); Master of Science in Nursing (preferred)

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of nursing leadership experience

    • Psychiatric or behavioral health experience required

    • Director-level leadership experience preferred

  • Licensure/Certifications:

    • Registered Nurse licensed in Kansas

    • Valid driver's license and auto insurance

    • Must be at least 21 years old
