The Nursing Director coordinates all aspects of Emergency Services in conjunction with the Chair of Emergency Medicine and/or medical directors for each facility to maximize all components of the UC Health System. Uses advanced education, administrative and clinical knowledge and skills to find innovative methods to enhance and improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the UC Health Emergency Services. The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for achieving a level of shared operational management between University of Cincinnati Medical Center (60%) and West Chester Hospital (40%). This position also aims to foster shared operational management between physicians and hospital departments by integrating resources to positively impact patient care delivery and continuum.

Qualifications
Minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing.
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Ohio.
BLS certification; specialty area certification preferred.
3-5 years of equivalent experience minimum.
Responsibilities
Promote a cooperative work environment through effective communication, interpersonal skills, and team building.
Establish effective networks within UC Health System and referral regions, including outreach services to EMS agencies.
Ensure progression toward quality outcomes, patient and family satisfaction, cost-effectiveness, and system efficiency.
Serve as a unifying force to achieve Emergency Service metrics and goals across the system.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements to maintain verification and accreditation status.
Develop the Emergency Services Strategic Plan in collaboration with the Chair of Emergency Medicine, medical directors, and system administration to support UC Health's strategic goals.
Manage Emergency Services staff through effective communication, resource allocation, performance goal setting, and educational opportunities.
Prepare and oversee the Emergency Services budget with institutional business managers.
Develop and monitor performance improvement programs, including data collection, analysis, trending, and committee support.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to oversee patient care, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate and oversee outreach EMS programs.
Guide program development and participate in reviewing and approving operational objectives and plans.
Oversee operational support needs such as information services, telecommunications, facilities, purchasing, personnel, and program development.
