Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Administrator, the Director of Nursing has the authority, responsibility, and accountability for the functions, activities, and training of the nursing staff and its’ functions within the facility. The DON is responsible for the overall management of the facility, seven (7) days per week. The DON is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures. The Director of Nursing assists and supports the translation of the nursing philosophy of the community into nursing practice by participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing care delivery system.

Job Description

Ensure residents' needs are met by coordinating and monitoring measures, services, and related support services, allowing for respect and dignity of the person

Evaluate departmental personnel's skill competencies and overall performance evaluations annually

Work collaboratively with all other departments to assure delivery of customer-related services

Provide ongoing wellness programs to the residents

Be responsible for implementing services during resident move-in, helping residents with their orientation to the facility

Be responsible for the safety of all community residents to minimize the potential risks of accidents or incidents

Communicates and observes the Corporate Compliance Program effectively and complies with Code of Conduct when performing work functions

Ensure that the community adheres to the legal, safety, health, fire, and sanitation codes by being familiar with your role in carrying out the site's fire, safety, and disaster plans and by being familiar with current MSDS

Anticipate, troubleshoot, follow up with concerns and follow through with office, staff, and nursing needs

Qualifications

Current RN license for Indiana

Nurse Management/DON experience with demonstrated results
