The Director of Music assists the Pastor in facilitating the liturgical life of the parish by coordinating and providing music leadership at all parish liturgies. This exempt, full-time position requires primarily weekend and weekday evening availability. Key responsibilities: The primary responsibilities include the weekly planning, rehearsals, and execution of liturgical music each weekend (Sat 5:00 PM, Sun 8:30, & 11:00 AM), Holy Days (12:00 Noon & 6:30 PM), special feast days, and other parish liturgical events. The Director of Music is available to plan and provide resources for families and others involved in funerals, weddings, etc. that take place at the parish. The Director of Music, along with the Pastor and Business Administrator, will prepare an annual budget. Master’s degree in music (preferrable) or equivalent education. 3-5 years’ music ministry experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite instrumental and vocal skills, knowledge and appreciation for Catholic liturgy and music Employment is contingent upon applicant’s satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with cantors, choirs, and instrumentalists. Catholic in Good Standing. Supervises: supervise and rehearse with cantors, choirs, and musicians Position Start Date : As soon as possible.
