Key Responsibilities: Oversee the MDS program ensuring compliance and precision in assessments. Evaluate Patient Driven Payment Method (PDPM) alongside associated potential admissions costs. Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores, assessing risks that could impact reimbursement. Train and mentor MDS Coordinators while offering valuable guidance. Engage in comprehensive resident assessments and care planning sessions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure thorough data collection for assessments. Provide ongoing education and insights to facility staff and leadership. Analyze assessment data to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for reimbursement optimization. Foster a culture of continual improvement and innovation in nursing care. Qualifications: Valid RN license preferred. Advanced degree or relevant certification preferred. Experience in direct care within a long-term care setting and/or as an MDS Coordinator is essential. Deep understanding of state and federal regulations concerning MDS and billing processes. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), PDP, MDS 3.0, Medicaid, and Medicare requirements. A genuine interest in the care of elderly and chronically ill individuals. Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of conducting independent decision-making. Strong written and verbal communication skills with flexible interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively and influence others within a multidisciplinary team. We Value Your Passion!
