Summary
The Director of Marketing Operations serves as deputy to the Assistant Vice President of Marketing (AVP) in leading cross-functional project management, intake, and collaboration across University Communications and Marketing (UCM)—including design, visual media, web, and email teams—and coordinating with peer groups such as Campus Engagement, Media Relations, Content Strategy, and Capital Projects. The role drives operational excellence and accountability, ensures on-time/quality delivery of marketing initiatives, and upholds Tulane’s brand standards, including licensing of marks, signage and wayfinding visual standards, and vendor coordination. This position also supports training for campus partners and advances university-wide marketing initiatives that enhance Tulane’s reputation. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities •Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organization, attention to detail, ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.• Experience building documentation, SOPs, training, and change-management initiatives.• Familiarity with accessibility standards and marketing/communications compliance (e.g., CAN-SPAM, FERPA) and basic contracts/vendor management.• Working knowledge of web and email operations, marketing analytics, and data-informed decision-making.• Knowledge of brand management and licensing processes; familiarity with signage/wayfinding standards and coordination with capital projects and vendors.• Strong stakeholder management; ability to collaborate across creative, web, email, content, media relations, and engagement teams.• Demonstrated expertise leading project intake, prioritization, scheduling, and cross-functional workflows (Airtable or similar PM tools), particularly with complex, multi-channel marketing and communication campaigns. Required Education and/or Experience • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field• Five years of progressively responsible experience in marketing operations and/or project management in a complex organization• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or comparable credential, is highly desirable. Compensation Information This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 26.
