JOB TITLE:
Director of Marketing - Athletics
JOB PURPOSE:
This position creates and implements fan cultivation strategies and tactics through a variety of marketing strategies for assigned sports.
This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans and in-game production for Wyoming Athletics including ticket sales initiatives, increasing attendance, and brand awareness campaigns. They will develop new strategies to build and enhance the fan base for men’s basketball, along with ensuring that marketing plans are developed and executed successfully for all sports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and implement fan cultivation strategies through advertising campaigns, digital marketing, email marketing, and promotional initiatives for men’s basketball and other assigned sports and related events
Manage and direct all fan experience, in-game promotions, and game scripts for men’s basketball and other assigned sports
Develop and implement new strategies to engage fans at all Wyoming games and events
Oversee all interns and gameday staff
Assists with fulfillment of sponsorship agreements garnered through Learfield Sports Properties
Maintains thorough knowledge of and adheres to all applicable University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Assists with other duties/projects as assigned/directed.
Candidates should have willingness to work odd hours, weekends and holidays as is typical in collegiate athletics. A valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field
2-year experience in collegiate/professional sports marketing or general marketing
Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the .
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
3+ years’ experience in collegiate or professional sports marketing
Experience planning, developing, and executing comprehensive marketing plans
Experience with email marketing software, Eloqua
Supervisory experience, including the ability to foster leadership and teamwork amongst others
Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills
Ability to influence and build working relationships among diverse individuals
Strong attention to detail with the ability to create and maintain very specific timelines
