Bronx Healthcare Facility - Job Summary: The Maintenance Director is responsible for maintaining the facility's physical environment to ensure safety, comfort, and regulatory compliance. This role oversees daily maintenance operations, supervises maintenance staff, manages vendor relationships, and ensures that the facility is in optimal operating condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise maintenance staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and regulations, including those from the Department of Health.
Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and mechanical systems.
Oversee preventative maintenance programs for equipment and building systems.
Coordinate and supervise outside vendors and contractors for facility-related projects.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and safety hazards.
Maintain proper documentation of inspections, repairs, and maintenance logs.
Collaborate with the Administrator and other department heads to address facility needs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical certification preferred.
Minimum 3 years of maintenance supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire alarms).
Working knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage projects from start to finish.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed.
