The IT Director oversees the organization’s technology strategy, infrastructure, and systems to ensure efficient, secure, and scalable operations. They lead the IT team, manage budgets and projects, and align technology initiatives with business goals. Responsibilities: Responsible for the maintenance and application of all computer programs, systems, and technology utilized within the practice. Works with Healthcare Systems Admin to coordinate the implementation of new applications. Evaluates and implements new programs, adjusting current procedures to improve efficiencies and maintain compliance with CMS / MIPS reporting guidelines, e.g., Ocular Innovations, Focal, Doc-Alert. Ensures systems admin oversees EMR, QPP (MIPS), HIPAA, OSHA, and ICD-10 compliance; provides direction, counseling, and assistance to department managers as needed. Helps establish and maintain secure, accurate transfer of clinical data and consent forms between clinic locations and the KWEC Surgery Center / Lasik Center. Reviews and maintains electronic and paper consent forms to ensure legal and regulatory compliance for clinical, surgical, anesthesia, and premium services, in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Executive Director. Manages security privileges for clinical and finance systems, including practice management, EHR, QuickBooks, Stripe, MOBIT, etc. Advises the Marketing Director on the security and viability of patient communication methods and messages. Assists in developing patient satisfaction improvement strategies, direct communication avenues, and data mining efforts. Manages the phone system and assists with call center process issues as needed. Acts as primary liaison for processes involving MedNetworx, Arrowhead, Secur-serv, coordinating applications, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Responsible for procurement, installation, and ongoing security and compliance of physical technology resources. Distributes work-from-home technology resources like laptops and softphones. Remains on call for special problems and projects requiring data analysis, creative problem solving, and solutions development. Specialty Roles: Coordinates new site construction, renovation, and practice acquisition projects, ensuring power, data, and security requirements are met. Maintains physical security measures such as alarms and cameras, managing recordings and monitoring systems. Oversees onboarding and training of new physicians on systems and compliance policies. Advises on integrating clinical equipment with EMR and coordinates setup of new equipment. Coordinates disaster recovery efforts to ensure swift department recovery after crises. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a management-level IT role within a fast-paced, evolving environment. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Interpersonal Skills: Must demonstrate empathy, proactive advocacy, and the ability to work under tight timelines. Leadership/People Skills: Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with capacity to influence cross-functional teams.
