Job Overview:
We are looking for a Director of Infrastructure to lead our IT infrastructure team to ensure the optimal performance, availability, security, and scalability of our systems and applications. You will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and managing the infrastructure and operations strategy, architecture, policies, and standards. You will also oversee the migration of workloads to the cloud and the integration of cloud services with our existing infrastructure.
As the Director of Infrastructure, you will work closely with other IT leaders, business stakeholders, vendors, and external partners to align the infrastructure and operations roadmap with the business objectives and priorities. You will also manage the resources and staff of the infrastructure team and ensure the delivery of high-quality services and solutions.
To be successful in this role, you should have at least 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations management, preferably in the retail industry. You should also have strong knowledge and practical experience in networking, cloud computing, virtualization, IBM iSeries, and other relevant technologies and platforms. You should have excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
Define and execute the infrastructure and operations strategy, architecture, policies, and standards to support the business goals and requirements
Manage the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network, backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring systems
Lead the design and migration of workloads to the cloud and the integration of cloud services with the existing infrastructure, ensuring the best practices, security, and compliance
Manage the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure team, including daily completion of Jira work-orders, operational checklists, and SOX access and user reviews.
Monitor and evaluate the performance, availability, reliability, and scalability of the IT infrastructure and operations, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Manage the budget, resources, and staff of the infrastructure team, and provide guidance, coaching, and feedback.
Manage the successful completion of IT Infrastructure projects.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and partners, and negotiate contracts and service agreements
Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in IT infrastructure and operations, and recommend and implement new solutions and innovations
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
At least 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations management, preferably in the retail industry
Strong knowledge and experience in networking (CCNA or equivalent experience preferred), cloud computing, virtualization, IBM iSeries Midrange, and other relevant technologies and platforms
Experience in migrating workloads to the cloud and integrating cloud services with the existing infrastructure
Experience in managing IT service delivery, ITIL processes, and IT governance frameworks
Experience in leading, managing, and developing IT teams and projects
Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with different levels of the organization and external parties
