Director of Insurance Operations

Job Summary

Looking for a highly skilled and experienced Director of Insurance Operations to oversee and lead the Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, and Marketing departments.

Compensation Package

Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 Performance-Based Bonuses Comprehensive Benefits Package

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations across policy administration, claims processing, underwriting support, and customer service. Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the insurance division. Establish and monitor key performance indicators to drive operational excellence. Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute long-term business strategies. Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and process improvements. Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery. Lead, mentor, and develop operational teams to achieve business objectives. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Manage staffing, performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives. Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. Implement and maintain effective risk management practices and internal controls. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory changes and audits. Partner with underwriting, claims, finance, IT, and other departments to drive cross-functional initiatives. Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including brokers, reinsurers, and regulatory bodies. Communicate operational insights and performance metrics to executive leadership. Leverage technology to enhance operational capabilities and data-driven decision-making. Identify and implement system improvements and automation solutions. Ensure effective use of insurance platforms and data analytics tools.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 8–10 years of experience in insurance operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. In-depth knowledge of insurance products, processes, regulations, and industry trends. Proven track record of leading large teams and driving operational success. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities. Proficiency in agency management systems (Epic preferred) and data analytics.
