Professional Minimum Qualifications Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, adult education, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Work Experience: Previous experience in workforce development and administration. Preferred Qualifications Education: A master’s degree in business administration, management, adult education, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Work Experience: Previous teaching experience involving adult learners. Prior experience with Colleague; knowledgeable about the registration requirements of the NC Community College System within Continuing Education. Essential Duties Under the direction of the Deanof Continuing Education, the Director of Industry Training works cooperatively with BCCC faculty/staff to perform the following: Managing the development, maintenance, and administration of a comprehensive Industry Training Program to include CDL Truck Driving, Overweight Escort, Auto Dealer, Vehicle Emissions, Welding, Advanced Manufacturing & Mechatronics, Forklift, HVAC, technology classes, OSHA 10/30, Lean Six Sigma, as well as other new initiatives.
Managing the development, maintenance, and administration of a comprehensive Prison Training Program at Hyde Correctional Institute and Tyrrell Prison Work Farm.
Responsible for coordinating the integration of the instructional components of the Industry Training Program including the selection and evaluation of instructional staff, preparing staff assignments, curriculum development, scheduling classes, and program development and monitoring.
Coordinate the Performance Evaluation Review process for part-time instructors using instructor and course evaluations. Review all data results with part-time instructors in an effort to maintain continuous quality improvement in instruction and course curricula.
Coordinates all support activities, including facilities, equipment, registration, and management and supervision of students and student records.
Develop, implement, direct, and evaluate activities related to recruitment, admissions, assessment, advisement, and retention of students.
Complete required class visitations and evaluations.
Maintain standards for compliance with state and national accrediting agencies, NC Community College System, and with Beaufort County Community College.
Consult with state and local agencies in developing and administering training programs through the establishment of an advisory committee; interview representatives from such agencies to ensure that program objectives are aligned with training needs.
Direct and implement the development and management of the Industry Training Program budget; supervise the preparation of budgets and, upon approval, assume overall responsibility for timely and accurate implementation.
Prepare financial reports, presentations, brochures, and other documents pertaining to the Industry Training Program.
Research, identify, and evaluate appropriateness of grant opportunities in relation to the goals and objectives of the Industry Training Program.
Attend local, regional, state, and national conferences and meetings associated with Industry & Prison Training Program to include meetings held by the Beaufort County Committee of , Beaufort County Business & Industry Innovation Council, Industry Planning Subcommittee, and Beaufort County NCWorks Career Center.
Partner and collaborate with the BCCC Small Business Center and Customized Training Directors.
Maintain student, faculty and staff confidentiality; consistently monitor work area to ensure instructor and student data is being protected by FERPA regulations; and participate in annual FERPA training.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Ability to adapt and respond to changing work situations and environments in a positive manner.
Identify and improve upon internal work-flow procedures in an effort to provide improved customer service to Continuing Education customers, both internal and external. · Serve on appropriate college committees as requested.· Participate in professional development activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge, as agreed upon by the employee and supervisor.· Interact with students, the public, the community, and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous and professional manner.· Comply with the college’s policies and procedures.· Must be able to work flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.· Perform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned by supervisor.
