Job Summary The Director of Imaging Services is responsible for overseeing the entire imaging department, ensuring high-quality diagnostic services, implementing best practices, and complying with industry standards and regulations. You will work collaboratively with other departments to enhance patient care, manage the departmental budget effectively, and lead a talented team of imaging professionals towards achieving departmental goals. Essential Functions Oversee daily operations across all imaging areas. Foster effective communication within the team and with stakeholders. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and staff. Exhibit expertise in radiologic techniques and programs. Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant accreditation standards. Oversee equipment maintenance and repair processes. Ensure availability and organization of supplies and equipment for patient care. Utilize equipment safely, adhering to established protocols. Manage staffing to maintain departmental productivity. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and resource management. Respond promptly to patient and family inquiries. Implement ongoing education and training initiatives for staff. Serve as a professional role model and provide guidance to the team. Innovatively plan and coordinate department functions. Utilize hospital-specific software and technology proficiently. Support hospital values and communicate departmental goals effectively. Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues impacting patient care. Engage in quality assurance initiatives to enhance patient service quality. Ensure accurate and compliant use of the chargemaster. Perform other related duties as required. Adhere to all policies and standards. Leadership Responsibilities Supervision and Staff Management Provide mentorship and development opportunities for staff. Schedule employees effectively to optimize resource use. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for growth.
Strategic Planning and Financial Oversight Collaborate on strategic direction, budgeting, and planning. Monitor departmental expenditures for cost-effective service delivery. Evaluate and incorporate new technologies to enhance operations. Establish and implement departmental policies and procedures.
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Participate in quality audits and inspections as needed. Maintain established quality control practices.
Collaboration and Communication Work closely with leadership to improve service delivery. Stay current with advancements and changes in the industry.
Staff Responsibilities May take on staff duties as needed, ensuring competencies are met.
Qualifications Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. 4-6 years of experience as a radiologic technologist in an acute care setting required. 2-4 years of supervisory experience required. 5-7 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred. 2-4 years of experience as a director in a hospital imaging program preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities In-depth knowledge of imaging services management. Ability to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services. Skills in implementing best practices in imaging. Understanding of industry standards and regulations. Strong collaboration skills with various departments for optimal patient care. Proficient in managing departmental budgets. Leadership capabilities to guide imaging professionals effectively. Experience in developing strategic plans for imaging services. Focus on continuous operational improvements. Ability to maintain and oversee imaging technology. Competence in staff scheduling to meet departmental needs. Licenses and Certifications ARRT Certification required. State Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required. Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
