Position Summary: Our Client in Clarksville, TN is conducting a confidential search for a strategic and experienced Director of Human Resources . This individual will serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team , helping to shape the organization's culture, strategy, and long-term success. The Director will lead all aspects of HR while supervising staff, managing compliance, and driving employee engagement across the organization. This role is critical in driving organizational growth and sustainability through strategic workforce planning, leadership development, and cultural transformation. The Director will work closely with the CEO and Executive Team to shape long-term people strategy and implement scalable systems that support a growing, mission-focused workforce.

Key Responsibilities: Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team, contributing to organizational planning, growth, and change management.
Oversee all HR operations including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, benefits, DEIB, training and development, and performance management.
Supervise HR staff, ensuring effective execution of day-to-day responsibilities and professional development.
Review, implement, and improve HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and organizational consistency.
Lead employee engagement and retention strategies that align with organizational values and goals.
Manage HRIS functionality, reporting, and data integrity (experience with Paylocity preferred).
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws as well as nonprofit HR best practices.
Foster a workplace culture grounded in inclusion, respect, and accountability.
Lead strategic workforce planning initiatives , including forecasting talent needs, succession planning, and job architecture refinement.
Serve as a strategic advisor during board and executive discussions involving people strategy, compliance risks, or organizational change.
Evaluate and implement HR technologies and analytics tools to improve data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.
Champion a performance-driven culture , aligning individual and team objectives with organizational mission and strategic goals.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years at a leadership level.
SHRM-CP/SCP or HRCI PHR/SPHR certification is required.
Proven experience supervising HR teams and working at the executive level.
Deep knowledge of nonprofit HR strategy and compliance.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Paylocity or comparable HRIS is a plus.
Must demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential information.
Experience driving organizational change, culture development , or HR transformation initiatives.
Proven ability to influence senior leaders and translate vision into operational strategy .
Strong analytical and systems-thinking capabilities to lead HR process improvements.
Additional Details: Hybrid role based in Clarksville, TN.
Occasional evenings/weekends may be required for organizational events.
