Seniors At Home offers a wide range of services to help older adults live safe, healthy, and independent lives, including home care, personal assistant services, companionship, and specialized dementia and palliative care. We provide the Bay Area’s leading continuum of care for aging adults.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Seniors at Home, the Director of Holocaust Survivor Services oversees the delivery of trauma-informed, person-centered care tailored to the needs of Holocaust survivors. This role is responsible for leading a dedicated program team, ensuring culturally responsive, high-quality services, and managing a program budget exceeding $15 million annually.
The Director serves as the agency’s point of contact for Holocaust-related grant funding, including the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (“Claims Conference”) and the California Holocaust Survivor Assistance Program. This includes grant lifecycle management, budget planning, reporting, compliance, and strategic alignment with funder and agency priorities.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $125,000 – $140,000 (depending on experience)
Employment Type: Full-time, exempt with benefits

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead all aspects of Holocaust Survivor Services programming
Ensure delivery of high-quality, culturally sensitive care aligned with Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed (PCTI) principles
Coordinate cross-functional services with care managers, volunteers, home care, and community partners
Monitor service effectiveness and manager emergency financial assistance programs
Direct all financial functions of the program, including grant management and budget oversight
Serve as liaison to funders and internal departments
Track utilization, maintain data integrity, and prepare required reports and audits
Supervise care managers and program staff with a focus on accountability, coaching, and performance excellence
Lead onboarding, training, and development efforts in trauma-informed care and compliance
Collaborate with HR and executive leadership on workforce planning and retention
Ensure timely and accurate data entry across multiple systems (e.g., SalesForce, AlayaCare, Evolv)
Update workflows, program materials, and compliance systems based on funder and agency guidelines, and client needs
Support agency-wide initiatives and uphold client privacy and legal documentation standards
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field required; in lieu of master’s degree, relevant work experience of 10+ years will be considered
LCSW or LMFT licensure strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in social services
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or program leadership role. Highly skilled in coaching, supervising, and developing multidisciplinary staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable team culture
Understanding of Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed (PCTI) care practices and cultural humility in service delivery; ability to learn and integrate PCTI principles if not already familiar. Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, person-centered care
Demonstrated proficiency in budget development, fiscal management, variance analysis and reporting, data tracking, and compliance monitoring
Demonstrated experience working with older adults, individuals with complex trauma histories, and/or Holocaust survivors strongly preferred
Experience with grant management, compliance, and reporting, preferably in a nonprofit or human services environment. Capable of translating funder requirements into actionable procedures and clear guidance for staff
Familiarity with Jewish cultural traditions and the historical context of Holocaust survivor care
