Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communication, Videography/Photography/Graphic Design, or a related field, or equivalency
2-3 years of experience with graphic design and sports photography
2-3 years of experience shooting sports with mirrorless and/or DSLR cameras
Experience with lighting, video editing software, and Adobe Creative Suite
Proficiency with technology and social media
License/Certification Required
Preferred Qualifications Experience working with a college football program
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Associate AD for Strategic Communications with shared oversight by Football Recruiting Staff, the Director of Football Creative Media will be responsible for the graphic design, photography and producing and editing of highly creative videos that highlight the App State football program and its student-athletes, engage recruits and fans, and tell the story of App State Football to a variety of audiences.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support App State Football efforts to build brand affinity for Mountaineer Football, to increase and enhance the strategic initiatives established by the external units.
Create high-level graphics and oversee student graphic designers in the creation of motion and still graphics for use on social platforms, recruiting, and other areas.
Oversee photography for recruit shoots, workouts, practices, home and away games, etc.
Shoot, produce, and edit highly creative videos for the App State football program, at the direction of the Football Recruiting Staff, Associate AD for Football Operations, Senior Associate AD for Strategic Communications, football coaches, and staff.
Create videos that highlight App State football's tradition, culture, setting, fans, facilities, student-athletes, uniforms, game day atmosphere, etc.
Create graphics, photos, and videos for publication on at least the following platforms: Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube.
Assist with creative needs for on-campus recruiting events, producing high-level content in a timely fashion.
Maintain a creative calendar to assist with production timelines and scheduling.
Member of the App State Football Content Team that strategizes and executes creative content for the program.
Work closely with the Marketing, Strategic Communications, Sports Productions, and associated external units on creative concepts and strategies.
Adhere to guidance from the Senior Associate AD for Strategic Communications, Director of Sports Productions, and Director of Creative Services on appropriate use and enhancement of the App State visual brand.
