Overview
Director of Financial Planning & Analysis – Design Entities. The Director of FP&A will be responsible for the GPLA and IDtBS business financials and other duties as requested. The role partners with GPLA and IDtBS leaders, core teams, and other F&A leaders to drive consistent processes and accurate financials for DPR Construction's design-focused entities.
Responsibilities
Lead in a shared leadership environment, fostering positive influence and collaboration.
Ensure the FP&A function is scalable for growth, identifying and implementing process improvements and effectively using data and technology.
Perform forward-looking business scenario analysis to inform leadership of opportunities, risks, and operational needs.
Support Design Entities strategies and ensure alignment with long-term company objectives.
Stay current with industry trends to provide insights into the future for GPLA and IDtBS.
Direct day-to-day accounting and financial operations for GPLA and IDtBS (including multiple locations).
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, local regulations, and internal controls.
Lead the annual Business Planning process and support ad hoc analyses as requested.
Provide timely, accurate monthly financial reporting and an evaluation of project risks and opportunities to GPLA, IDtBS, and DPR Enterprise F&A.
Partner with leadership to drive strategic decisions through financial analysis and reporting.
Role & Responsibilities
Prepare and present financials for leadership reviews; manage backlog data, CRM opportunities, and market projections as applicable.
Manage WIP schedules and monitor project health; oversee overhead and labor rate updates and participate in annual reviews.
Review financial details of new projects and contracts for accuracy before monthly reports.
Attend leadership meetings and communicate financial information and risks.
Financials – Specific Areas of Focus
Manage and update WIP schedule monthly; prepare and finalize monthly financial packages.
Generate monthly MDAs for Design Entities leadership review and alignment.
Assist in backlog data preparation based on booked/unbooked work and market projections.
Monitor cost trends, utilization rates, and report on overhead and direct labor.
Customize financial reports and manage ERP-related activities (GL, chart of accounts, mappings).
Review project finances and contracts for accuracy prior to monthly reporting.
Provide ad hoc analyses and support Leadership with financial insights.
Accounting
Understand key owner contract provisions affecting accounting (billing terms, rates, incentives, penalties, contingencies, audits).
Coordinate POC/BIE/CIE issues with project teams and Leadership.
Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and promote best accounting practices across the Enterprise.
Ensure timely invoicing and collections.
Analyze internal cash flow and forecast future cash needs.
Education/Experience Requirements
10+ years practicing accounting and/or finance support.
BS in Accounting or related field (finance, audit, tax).
Proficiency with accounting software applications.
Construction or design industry experience preferred.
Experience with EPM/Oracle and ERP systems (Ajera a plus).
Experience working with multiple stakeholders.
