S&L Industrial provides pavement markings, traffic control, guard rails, and bridge resurfacing on roads and parking lots throughout Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico. Our company has recently grown to 180+ employees, and we are looking for a strong Director of Finance to join our team.
The Director of Finance , reporting directly to the General Manager, is responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations and leading its strategic financial planning. This role involves assessing the company's financial performance, driving financial planning and analysis, managing Profit and Loss, and improving overall operational efficiency. The Director of Finance will also oversee accurate forecasting, budgeting, and EBITDA management, while leading the accounting and administrative teams to ensure smooth financial operations.
Requirements
Participates in the development of budgets, forecasts, operating plans, and long-term strategic plans.
Prepares ad-hoc reports and conducts financial and operational analysis to support strategic initiatives.
Works closely with accounting, budgeting, and operational teams to implement tools for analyzing trends and results, including dashboards and KPIs.
Analyzes department and program performance to plan/forecast, recommending actions to meet targets and goals.
Leads financial initiatives, strategic projects, and month-end close processes, including inventory counts and general ledger entries for unbilled revenue and inventory.
Implements and manages best-in-class processes across departments, driving integration of financial information and analysis.
Partners with department leaders to enhance finance-related decisions, introduce process discipline, and ensure appropriate controls to safeguard assets.
Supports the timely completion of month-end close, accounts payable, and customer invoicing.
Tracks annual capital expenditures against budget.
Manage, lead, and provide ongoing support and training for the Accounting, Administration, Contracts and Payroll teams.
Monitors and reports on the company's financial performance, ensuring timely monthly financial reporting.
Supports corporate activities related to the annual audit, acquisition due diligence/integration, system upgrades, and other key initiatives.
Manages, trains, and supervises the Accounting and Administrative team.
Maintains current knowledge of financial trends, accounting practices, and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or relevant field (MS/MA is a plus) or equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience, with a minimum of 3 years of Finance management experience.
Solid understanding of GAAP accounting and financial practices and standards.
COINS (ERP) experience a plus.
Advanced computer skills (MS Office)
Experience in construction industry preferred.
Proficiency with Tax regulations, construction contracts, and risk management practices.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and written and provide clear and detailed information.
