A highly respected professional services firm in Los Angeles is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting to lead its finance and accounting operations across the firm. This executive-level role offers the opportunity to drive financial strategy, oversee operational effectiveness, and support long-term business growth in a dynamic, high-performance environment. **$200-$240K + discretionary bonus** **Hybrid 3 days/week in office The ideal candidate will be an experienced CPA with a strong background in finance leadership within legal, accounting/consulting, or similarly professional services industries. This position manages a large team of finance & accounting professionals. sponsibilities: Lead all finance and accounting operations including reporting, budgeting, treasury, audit, cash flow, fixed assets, and accounts payable Oversee month-end and year-end close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements Develop and manage annual budgets and provide regular financial analysis and variance reporting Coordinate with external tax advisors on filings and compliance; stay current on applicable tax laws and regulations Ensure accurate and timely payment of partner compensation in collaboration with internal teams Strengthen internal financial controls, policies, and reporting structures Manage banking and vendor relationships; represent the firm in financial matters as needed Identify and implement process improvements and technology enhancements to drive efficiency Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership and department heads to align financial strategies with business goals Mentor and lead finance staff, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and professional development
Qualifications: 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience Prior experience in legal, consulting, or professional services industries strongly preferred CPA required; MBA or advanced degree highly desirable Deep expertise in general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, audit, and internal controls Proven success in managing finance teams and delivering operational improvements Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders
