7/2/2025 Hamilton Mill UMC is hiring a Director of Facilities who manages and provides operational support for the physical building and the activities that occur on the church campus. The Director of Facilities will work with staff and volunteers to ensure that the assets of the church are respectively utilized. The position oversees the operations and maintenance on all church facilities and equipment. The Director of Facilities Manager will sit on the Leadership Board and act as staff liaison for facility and building related updates.
Abilities :
Commitment and devotion to the Christian mission of the United Methodist Church. Ability to develop working relationships with clergy, staff and lay leadership to better serve the needs of the HMUMC and the community. Ability to manage, delegate and prioritize tasks or assignments that fall under Director of Facility’s responsibilities with the goal for efficient and effective service to stakeholders. Ability to collaborate effectively with other church team leaders. Coordinate and manage vehicles used for church or ministry related events at HMUMC.
Experience : Experience managing the upkeep of buildings, assets and grounds of the church. Experience managing the repairs to facility utilities including oversight of 3rd party contractors. Experience with managing calendars and operations of events that impact all clergy, staff, volunteers, and community members/organizations Effective communication skills to represent church priorities to staff, community and congregation. Organizational skills in planning, managing and supporting anticipated and unanticipated administrative tasks. Experience managing multiple tasks and activities at once.
Duties and Responsibilities : Oversee all property maintenance including the supervision of the maintenance and housekeeping staff. Oversee, schedule and manage the setup crew for Sunday Worship and other church related planned events. Schedule and monitor all annual inspections, repairs and cleanings. Maintain building, equipment and all operations of the church facilities. Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of church grounds to include oversight of contracted landscaping services Manage relationships with all contractors, utilities and service companies Manage and control all key and security systems Manage purchasing of maintenance and facility related supplies Manage and supervise Kitchen Angel volunteers and oversee Wednesday Night Suppers Maintain kitchen area and manage all supplies and operations Assist with receptions in church for funerals and community events Manage all use of church space and manage church calendar through Planning Center Facility Calendar Staff Liaison regarding the building to the Leadership Board on the Board of Trustees (what would this change to?) Other duties as assigned Model personal behavior and a lifestyle consistent with Christian faith and principles.
Work Environment: Monday – Thursday (9:00am-4:00pm); Sunday (part of Sunday morning worship team) After Hours/Evenings: As needed to support meetings/event schedule Some local travel should be expected (, meet with UMC peers/practitioners)
