Centum Search is partnering with an innovative startup to find a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering to lead their growing technical team.
Role Overview
As the Director of Engineering, you will:
Lead, mentor, and manage a distributed engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Define and execute the engineering roadmap in alignment with the companys business goals. Make key architectural and technical decisions to ensure the delivery of scalable, reliable, and secure systems on time and on budget. Establish engineering KPIs, manage sprint cycles, and remove roadblocks to maintain team momentum. Remain hands-on by overseeing development efforts, reviewing design documents, conducting code reviews, and setting technical direction. Assess and adopt new technologies when appropriate. Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly in AI. Collaborate with the CTO on budgeting and resource planning. Qualifications Proven experience in software engineering and engineering leadership roles. Proficiency in tools and practices related to industry-standard generative AI systems. Demonstrated success in managing and scaling engineering teams within high-growth environments. Strong programming skills in modern languages such as Python. In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), distributed systems, and CI/CD pipelines. Solid understanding of relational databases such as Postgres and MySQL. Strong organizational skills with expertise in project management. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. Analytical mindset with a bias toward action and pragmatic problem-solving. Enthusiasm for the fast-paced challenges and opportunities of startup life.
