The Nickel is a fully furnished 50-room apartment hotel designed to offer all of the comforts of a home away from home, including fully furnished units with full kitchens. This position also oversees our sister property, The Pinch Hotel, just 5 blocks away. We offer 24-hour concierge services, housekeeping services, and personalized amenities.
Job Description:
Delegate direction and assign tasks to the maintenance department. Organize materials, tools, and equipment to perform daily assignments. Maintain timelines and work schedules in accordance with the preventive maintenance program. Facilitate the ordering of all supplies to ensure that par levels are maintained and that purchasing is in line with the budget. Check pending work orders daily and address each work order in a timely fashion. Perform electrical work: replace light switches, reset circuit breakers, and replace wall plug receptacles, etc. Perform plumbing work orders: unplug sinks, toilets, garbage disposals, drain lines, replace washers, gaskets, vacuum breakers, and toilet seals. Work with different types of pipe, including conduit, copper, black cast iron, and pipe hangers. Perform Preventive Maintenance work orders; monitor and maintain the entire building. Check HVAC equipment; change filters, clean coils, belts, bearings, and lubricate as necessary. Check and test-run the emergency generator weekly. Perform general maintenance on guest rooms and public areas. Requirements: Minimum of 4 years of Management experience. HVAC and Electric Certification (preferable) Full-Time Position- 40 hours, which may include weekends and holidays. High School Diploma or equivalent. Command of English Language- both spoken and written. Reliable form of transportation. Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
