Overview Position: Director, Engineering and Maintenance
Reports To: VP of Operations
Department: Mill Wide
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary
The Director of Engineering and Maintenance is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Engineering and Maintenance Departments, in alignment with the strategic plan of the company.
Leads all aspects of process resolution and continuous improvement toward improved production, production cost, and world class reliability, with focus on cost, usability, manageability, and maintainability.
Demonstrates exceptional leadership through situational leadership, servant leadership, and creation of a vision for the department.
Accountabilities
Manage the technical team in a manner that supports teamwork and development.
Ensure facility compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
Provide technical leadership in maintenance problems and project completion.
Manage the capital expenditure budget, maintenance repairs budget, and energy budget.
Drive continuous improvement activities to generate improvements in key performance indicators.
Regularly track and report on projects, safety, work orders, and energy.
Use safe working practices to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents and the preservation of equipment.

Ability to work in a factory environment, subject to noise, heat, cold and humid atmosphere.
Education and Experience
PAPER MILL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
Minimum 15 years paper converting / paper manufacturing experience with a minimum of 10 years management experience.

Ability to Commute: Elmwood Park, NJ 07407 (Preferred)
Ability to Relocate: Elmwood Park, NJ 07407: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Willingness to travel: 25% (Preferred)
