Position Description:

The Director of Development - Major and Planned Gifts is a multi-faceted fundraiser on the Lourdes University Advancement team. This position builds relationships with new and existing prospects and secures philanthropic support for leadership annual gifts along with major and planned gift commitments. The director brings innovative outreach and engagement strategies, prompts the identification of priority prospects and gift opportunities, provides management of donor relationships, timely and accurate reporting, and regular updates for the Vice President of Advancement.

Goals: The Director of Development will work towards measurable goals in process and result metric areas including, but not limited to the quality and quantity of in-person and virtual donor meetings, new prospect qualifications, cultivation plan development, leadership and major gift solicitations, and overall fundraising production.

Responsibilities: Identify and cultivate new prospects, managing a donor portfolio to build a robust solicitation pipeline Solicit annual, multi-year, and deferred philanthropic commitments. Required Qualifications Strong written and verbal communications skills Ability to initiate new relationships and further build existing relationships Excellent interpersonal, conversational and telephone skill. Effective project management skills to document and structure constituent cultivation Proficiency with video conferencing and webinar technology Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently and take initiative Ability to collaborate with others in building relationships and partnerships Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within the internal and external communities Ability to strategize and conceptualize new ideas and be able to translate these ideas into specific action Preferred Education / Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years in fundraising, development, sales, communications, public relations, or higher education
