Position Summary

Directs all aspects of the Marketing department, including performance management of employees, budget management, policy development and regulatory compliance. Provides complex communications delivery, integration, and analysis across media to increase awareness of LOPA and generate support for organ and tissue donation.


Essential Functions

  • Develops and implements an integrated marketing strategy aligned with organizational strategic priorities, ensuring consistency across internal and external communications and reinforcing LOPA’s mission-driven culture.
  • Cultivates and articulates a consistent, cohesive, engaging and energetic brand for LOPA and the LOPA Foundation that digitally, aesthetically, and editorially conveys the strength and vitality of LOPA’s core purpose.
  • Oversees brand storytelling and content strategy that amplifies the mission, highlights donor and family stories, and strengthens LOPA’s reputation.
  • Directs key projects, advertising, media, production and events utilizing project planning, budgeting, and management best practices under the direction of the CAO and CLO.
  • Leads digital marketing strategy, including website optimization, analytics, and social media engagement. Leverages CRM and data analytics tools to evaluate performance and improve campaign targeting and donor engagement.
  • Builds and sustains relationships with community partners, donor hospitals, media outlets, and advocacy organizations. Collaborates with the Foundation on campaigns that drive awareness, fundraising, and community engagement.
  • Provides editorial direction and design across multiple communications channels: website, social media and other digital platforms, email, collateral, and advertising
  • Develops, maintains and supports processes for effective workflow and communication and maintains portal and other access points of information across all departments within LOPA.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of support materials and services for LOPA departments, including Professional and Public Education, Human Resources, Public Affairs and Family Services
  • Strategically prioritizes resources for producing content for and creating synergy within targeted populations
  • Develops strategies and action plans to improve the support, resources and memorial activities provided to donor families.
  • Evaluates and assesses the use of technology, both current and new, to maximize and track engagement of specific messaging and outreach efforts.
  • Develops and manages departmental budgets for maximum effectiveness, evaluating projects against established metrics
  • Oversees the development, revision, and maintenance of policies and procedures for department(s)
  • Assists in the development and execution of LOPA’s strategic plans, developing goals and tactical plans to assist in meeting organizational objectives
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable regulatory/accrediting agencies/entities.
    • Ensures all marketing and communications adhere to ethical storytelling principles, HIPAA regulations, and donor confidentiality standards.
  • Oversees vendor and agency relationships to ensure cost-effective delivery of creative, media, and technology services. Implements project management tools and workflow systems to enhance productivity and accountability.
  • Fosters an inclusive, collaborative team culture that values innovation, continuous learning, and diverse perspectives. Develops future marketing leaders through mentorship and professional development opportunities.
  • Evaluates performance of direct reports on a scheduled basis (as defined by HR) and provides appropriate feedback
  • Ensures employee compliance with all HR policies and procedures.
  • Works with HR in the development, growth and performance management of assigned staff
  • Coaches/councils assigned employees as needed
  • Utilizes available data to assess employee performance
  • Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to assure mutual understanding of desired results
  • Works with HR in the recruitment, interviewing and selection of applicants for department, including job description development and maintenance
  • Identifies relevant models of best practices in creative marketing and participates in relevant organizations that may benefit assigned departments.
  • Communicates corporate culture internally and externally

Job Role Expectations

  • Works closely with leadership team in setting department goals, managing department and employee performance and overseeing process improvement and strategic initiatives
  • Evaluates marketing outreach efforts for both financial and non-financial Returns on Investment (ROI)
  • Maintains and approves time cards of direct reports
  • Approves employee expense reimbursement
  • Takes active role in quality compliance and process improvement
    • Works in conjunction with department manager and Quality department to address quality concerns and areas for improvement
    • Participates in and support of QAPI activities and adherence to policies.
    • Utilizes available data to assess overall performance of department
    • Leads department through process improvement efforts
  • Participates in Governing Board and Advisory Board meetings, as requested
  • Conducts regular department meetings
  • Keeps direct supervisor updated on issues/challenges within department through reporting or monthly meetings
  • Participates in assigned leadership meetings/training
  • Creates and fosters positive professional relationships for enhanced collaboration with internal and external customers, partners and stakeholders

Role Progression

This role may be eligible for progression to an Executive position if one is made available. Promotion to Executive will be at the discretion of the Executive team.


Work Environment

  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, airborne illnesses, hazardous materials, pharmacological agents with little likelihood of harm if established health precautions are followed.
  • May, at times, have exposure to blood, packaged organs and tissues for transplant and/or research in a hospital setting or while in the office.
  • Possible mental and visual fatigue associated with detailed work.
  • This position requires travel, as needed.

Physical Demands

  • May require extended periods of sitting
  • Requires driving when travel is needed

Work Hours

Full time, salaried position. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm with flex time available at the discretion of the direct supervisor.


Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of five years experience in marketing management and supervision of employees
  • Master’s Degree in Marketing or related field a plus.

  • Ability to effectively manage people and processes.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, with advanced skills in email and word processing.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite software.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
