Director of Compliance

--- Responsible for supporting the university's intercollegiate athletics program by ensuring compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations. Monitors a wide range of compliance areas related to student-athletes, including eligibility, financial aid, recruiting, awards, and other relevant areas.
• Provides input on NCAA legislative proposals and contributes to the institutional response process
• Assists with major NCAA and conference investigations and prepares formal reports and related documentation
• Manages initial and continuing eligibility certification for all student-athletes, including review of academic records, background checks, and eligibility evaluation
• Administers National Letters of Intent (NLI) and athletics-related financial aid agreements in compliance with NCAA and institutional policies
• Ensures accurate and timely submission of Academic Progress Program (APP), Academic Progress Rate (APR), and Graduation Success Rate (GSR) data.
• Drafts and submits waiver and interpretation requests with well-supported arguments based on NCAA precedent and policy
• Administers Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund (SAOF) and manages textbook lists and related aid
• Monitors recruiting activities across all sports, including contacts, evaluations, visits, recruiting travel, and associated expenses
• Conducts regular spot checks of recruiting, practice, competition, and team travel to ensure compliance with NCAA rules
• Leads the department's comprehensive rules education program for coaches, staff , student-athletes, university personnel, boosters, and prospective student-athletes
• Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements
--- Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, AND:
3 years of experience in athletics compliance, payroll administration, contract management or related field
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to respect confidentiality and practice discretion
Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
Must be able to read and interpret policy
Ability to effectively engage and present to a wide variety of constituents, both internally and externally
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with exceptional listening skills and high emotional intelligence
Strong initiative to solve problems in a timely manner
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
