Position: Director of Business Development - Manufacturing Location: Danville, VA Medium size business in the Danville area with Manufacturing Solutions is recruiting a dIRECTOR of Business Development to take this diverse business to the next level. Individual will be responsible for new business development, forecasting, strategic planning, marketing, and industry/partner satisfaction to support near and long-term growth. The company is looking for a visionary leader with a strong Business Development background in IT, federal contracts, and higher education administration. RESPONSIBILITIES -Develop a marketing and sales strategy for providing manufacturing solutions to industry. -Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in industry, including government agencies, prime contractors, suppliers, and industry associations. -Individual will ensure the company has a strategic / tactical plan to pursue new customers, platforms, projects, and programs. -Identify opportunities and maintain a pipeline of potential business -Execute on the strategic plan – track and measure activity -Respond to RFPs in a timely manner -Track proposal efforts and manage contract review -Maintain business and government compliance -Evangelize the company’s capabilities REQUIREMENTS -Bachelor’s degree, in a technical discipline or real life experience -Master’s, in engineering, or MBA. PLUS -10 years+ experience in account or program management. -Defense experience with knowledge of defense acquisition processes, government contracting, and regulatory requirements required. -Technical experience in the area of manufacturing. -Proficiency in CRM systems and market research tools. -High level presentation experience at very senior level audiences . Additional REQUIREMENTS -Travel: 50% -Due to contracts with the United States Government, candidates must be either US Citizens or US Permanent Residents.
