Qualifications you'll bring:
Licensed to practice medicine in New York State.
Board Certified in child and adolescent psychiatry.
A minimum of five years of experience in behavioral health managed care or clinical settings, with at least two years in a clinical environment. Previous medical director experience in a managed care/health plan is a plus.
Knowledge of NYS addiction and mental health services and child-serving systems.
Experience in critical review of clinical scenarios is desirable.
Familiarity with NCQA requirements and HEDIS reporting is a plus.
Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills to function effectively in a highly matrixed environment.
Ability to effectively communicate with physicians and facility staff.
Willingness to travel throughout MVP Health Care's service area.
Proficiency in using computer systems effectively.
Ability to critically evaluate and research medical literature.

Your key responsibilities:
Provide clinical expertise and conduct first and second level clinical determinations based on MVP's policies, state and federal guidelines, and national accreditation standards.
Conduct pediatric reviews and engage with behavioral health network providers on clinical determinations and policy interpretation.
Collaborate with other leaders to represent behavioral health and integrated health programming to regulators as needed.
Identify and implement initiatives to promote care quality, service utilization, medication utilization, and cost control.
Support key stakeholders including sales, marketing, quality, and operations in a matrixed leadership role.
Actively participate in MVP training sessions and medical directors' meetings.
Provide coverage outside of normal business hours on a rotational basis.
Perform other duties as assigned to enhance healthcare delivery and improve customer experiences.
Where you'll be:
Virtual, preferably near Schenectady, NY, with our administrative locations in Schenectady, Rochester, and Tarrytown.
