Job Description We are seeking a Director of Asset Management - Real Estate Debt to drive transaction execution and asset management across the land developer and homebuilder space (top 200 homebuilders). The successful candidate will likely have experience working within a homebuilder or an investment firm where they have closed and asset managed acquisition and development (A&D) loans, land banking transactions and/or construction loans.
Core Responsibilities: Deal Underwriting & Transaction Structuring Support development of deal memos, cash flow models, and transaction timelines by collaborating with the team to underwrite investment opportunities and business plans
Work with key third parties to coordinate market studies, cost to complete studies, appraisals, etc
Design transaction structures, terms and key structural protections together with fee and asset management/ servicing models for the deal in partnership with the team
Asset and Risk Management Establish appropriate governance structures to monitor business plan, budget and transaction progress/ timelines
Using our construction software, review and approve draw requests, verifying completed work against disbursement requests
Coordinate third-party site inspections and progress against plan
Proactively identify potential schedule, budget, or execution risks
Implement solutions to address challenges before they impact project timelines
Track project performance metrics
Produce regular performance reports for capital partners and internal stakeholders
Document lessons learned and best practices to improve future projects
Experience / Qualifications Required Experience 10 years + experience in real estate financing, construction lending, or related fields
Strong understanding of homebuilder industry dynamics, financing structures, and growth strategies
Demonstrated experience with homebuilder finance products specifically A&D loans, landbanking transactions and/ or construction loans
Experience executing and asset managing horizontal and/ or vertical construction projects
Track record of successful deal execution and/ or asset management
Preferred Experience Background specifically in homebuilder financing/ residential development
Familiarity with construction projects, budgets, timelines, and cost structures for residential projects
Knowledge of entitlement processes
Skills & Abilities Strong financial analysis capabilities, including cash flow modeling and risk assessment
Excellent project management skills with attention to detail
Outstanding communication and relationship management abilities
Ability to identify and solve problems proactively
Ability to work in a team environment
Education Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Construction Management, or related field
Advanced degree or professional certifications (MBA, CCIM, PMP) a plus
Salary Range
The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $175,00 - $230,000 USD. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
