Location: Boston, MA | Hybrid (4 days in-office, 1 day remote) Join the Team Supporting Boston’s Only Public High School for the Visual and Performing Arts The Boston Arts Academy Foundation (BAAF) is seeking a strategic, data-driven, and relationship-oriented fundraising professional to serve as our next Director of Annual Giving. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of one of Boston’s most vibrant public schools by leading a robust annual giving program that generates approximately $1 million annually from a dynamic pool of individual and corporate supporters. About Boston Arts Academy Foundation BAAF supports the city’s only public high school for the visual and performing arts, a school that transforms the lives of Boston’s young artists—especially those from under-resourced communities. We believe that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Our mission is to close that gap and invest in the next generation of artists, leaders, and change-makers. About the Role The Director of Annual Giving will manage a portfolio of 100–150 donors and prospects, focusing on personalized engagement, thoughtful stewardship, and effective solicitation strategies to increase giving and retention. In collaboration with the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director will support the cultivation of top donors, while also leading prospect research and outreach to grow the annual fund. This position is ideal for a proactive fundraiser who is energized by meeting people, crafting compelling messages, and leveraging data to drive results. Success in this role will directly support transformative opportunities for BAA students—on stage, in the classroom, and beyond. Key Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of ~100–150 individual and corporate donors (giving ≤ $10,000) Conduct at least 14 one-on-one donor engagements per month Leverage research and data to identify and qualify new donors Maintain donor records and pipeline progress using Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT Collaborate with an external vendor to develop and execute strategic appeals across digital and print channels Annual Giving Strategy & Donor Engagement (15%) Develop and implement the annual giving plan alongside the CPO Design and execute donor cultivation and stewardship events in partnership with BAA Ensure integration of fundraising events—like HONORS and Champions—into annual engagement strategies Data Management & Reporting (15%) Ensure accurate tracking of gifts, solicitations, and donor interactions Analyze donor trends and performance metrics to inform strategy Manage mailing lists, campaign segmentation, and regular data audits Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 5–7 years of fundraising experience with a focus on individual and annual giving Proven track record managing a successful annual fund or mid-level donor program Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar CRM Strong project management and organizational abilities Collaborative, flexible, and mission-driven mindset Discretion and respect for donor confidentiality Knowledge of Boston’s philanthropic and education sectors is a plus Availability for occasional evening and weekend events Salary plus 10% performance-based bonus Generous paid time off, including: 11 paid holidays 4 additional days off during “Wellness Week” (week of MLK Jr. Day) Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance Group life insurance 403(b) retirement plan with employer contribution To Apply Ready to make a difference in the lives of Boston’s young artists?
