JOB OVERVIEW:
The Director of Analytics of our Employee Benefits Private Equity division is responsible and accountable for the organization, structure, systems, operations, and work product of the Private Equity Employee Benefits Analytics Department. The scope of the Analytics Department includes the delivery of all analytics needs related to both fully insured and self-funded insurance arrangements for all employee benefits lines of coverage.
Responsibilities:
Manage the Analytics Team and each member’s role and responsibilities to ensure department expectations, client deliverables and responsibilities are met
Review and refinement of the checks and balance system of the analytics team to ensure accuracy of all work product.
Analyze and determine cost impact and cost projections based on goals and strategies of the client including funding strategies, plan design changes, employee contribution, HSA/HRA/FSA contribution, etc.
Manage benchmarking data and stay informed of current industry trends, legislation, technology, and new products/programs to continuously improve knowledge and performance
Supervision of rate setting, budgeting/forecasting, and claims reserves
Develop and review financial/analytical exhibits for quarterly meeting presentations
Analyze and evaluate rates and claims performance
Analyze healthcare costs and utilization trends
Oversight of compliance related deliverables including but not limited to; nondiscrimination testing, imputed income calculation, San Francisco HCSO self-funded plans quarterly tracking, affordability, Medicare Part D creditable coverage, Wellness/Tobacco surcharges and ACA fees
Participation as an actuarial consultant in client calls/meetings and other interactions
Coach and mentor colleagues as appropriate to support professional development and success of the team
Oversight of work product template development for the analytics department deliverables to enhance efficiency, standardization and accuracy
Skills:
Gather data and analyze patterns/cause and effect relations
Flexibility to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to handle multiple projects and assign priorities
Willing to work flexible hours to meet client demands
Keen attention to details
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, finance, or related field
At least 5 years of experience in Employee Health Benefits Analytics
Understanding of underwriting and actuarial principles
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with data warehouse platforms such as Artemis, Cotiviti, Innovu, or Springbuk

The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
