This position reports directly to the Vice President of Advancement and works in close collaboration with the President of the National Alumni Association. Responsible for the development and coordination of alumni/ae programs, events and activities to assure that they remain involved in the life of Mount St. Mary’s University. Provide leadership and guidance to the Alumni Engagement Program, consistently enhancing the effectiveness of alumni as advocates of the University. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Volunteer Management: Provide recruitment and onboarding.Develop recruitment strategies.Create/ update volunteer job descriptionsInterview and engage volunteers who support and value the mission of the university.Provide orientation and onboarding as needed. Work with the Vice President of Advancement to match volunteers with appropriate roles, ensure proper coverage at events and programs, and manage overall volunteer schedules. Lead volunteer recognition and appreciation events under the direction of the Vice President. Annually evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer engagement. Event Management: Oversee the coordination and plan Alumni Reunion Weekend. Provide oversight for other alumni/ae events such as: Winter Homecoming, Hall of Fame and Senior Class “Send Off’ event. Data Analysis and Reporting: Supervise and oversee alumni records and maintain appropriate files for alumni/ae. Compile and maintain appropriate alumni/ae statistics and figures relating to size and geographic breakdown, etc. of the alumni/ae body. Marketing and Promotion: Work with the communications and marketing office to develop and implement effective communications with alumni/ae using existing publications and serve as editor of the Alumni Web Page. Budget: Prepare and manage the Office of Alumni Engagement budget. Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Baccalaureate Degree, Master’s Degree preferred Five years of experience in alumni relations, development, or positions of similar responsibility. Knowledge of fundraising and fundraising practices with a history of securing gifts of $5000 or greater preferred. Candidate must be a highly motivated professional with demonstrated success in volunteer management and/or event planning. Candidate must have solid strategic planning and organizational skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills and feel comfortable working with alumni, students, faculty, administrators, trustees and friends of the institution. This position involves considerable travel as well as evening and weekend work. Minor Tasks: Performs additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Advancement. Works with colleagues in the Office of Advancement and Development in carrying out appropriate programs, goals, events and tasks for the division. Serves on campus committees when requested by appropriate college officials. Salary Range $78,000-$83,000/year (Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications ). Employee Benefits:
