POSITION PURPOSE:
The Director is responsible for directing and coordinating the work of the entire on-ground Undergraduate Admissions staff to generate interest in campus programs and to achieve recruitment and enrollment goals. The Director provides vision and leadership to plan, prioritize and coordinate all aspects of recruitment while providing counselors with coaching, motivation, support and feedback to achieve their goals.
The Director works closely with campus constituencies including but not limited to, Marketing and Communications, Student Financial Services and Academic Affairs. The Director is also responsible for the execution of the admissions communication funnel inclusive of but not limited to the input of data, output of data, integrity of data and reporting of data.
SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $95,000/Annually
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Leadership
Providing office leadership in the development and maintenance of the Admissions applicant database, workflows, and communication flow to students.
Represent the admissions team at virtual and in-person events.
Leading efforts to work with existing software products to improve integration, develop customizations, and recommend alternatives.
Creating/reviewing key performance indicator standards to evaluate Admissions staff performance.
Providing guidance to staff in admissions duties, including the planning and implementation of recruiting activities.
Conducting team and individual meetings to motivate and address key issues and concerns with staff.
Coaches and mentors staff to develop their careers and improve individual and team performance.
Ensuring the current Admissions recruitment strategy is clearly understood and executed by the department.
Participating in the development and execution of short-term and long-term student recruitment strategies.
Reviews annual enrollment projections with the Vice President of Enrollment Services and makes data-driven recommendations.
Cross-Department Collaboration
Serving as a liaison, partnering with other departments including but not limited to Student Financial Services, Academic Advising, Marketing and Communications, and Student Affairs to ensure that processes are communicated and executed according to department and/or College policy.
With faculty and staff, foster a culture where all understand and appreciate their role in admissions and retention.
Partner with various constituencies to involve the campus community in recruitment.
Work closely with campus consultants (including but not limited to RNL, Spark451, OHO Interactive) to execute plans and strategies that improve enrollment.
Recruitment Management
Identify marketing tools, technologies, and strategic approaches for implementation both internally and externally.
Works with counselors to assess territory growth and shrinkage and use research tools such as forecasting models and Slate CRM data to determine trends that may impact enrollment
Create and monitor key performance indicators to evaluate staff performance.
Assess and use the annual territory assessment report to inform recruitment-based strategies and decision-making.
Work with admissions teams to imagine, enhance, and execute admissions events such as Open Houses and Accepted Students Day, as well as new and additional events.
Sets customer satisfaction levels in the design of recruiting and admissions processes.
Build agreement College-wide on recruiting and admissions execution and expectations.
Operations & Data
Providing oversight for business processes and technology needs associated with operational efficiency and resource allocation to identify needed application and system fixes and gaps in productivity for the most effective use of technology.
Research advancements in Admissions technology and office workflow.
Developing plans and managing projects for the implementation of new systems and patches and coordinating the testing and approval process.
Ongoing review and revisions to all Admissions pages of the college website.
Manage, coordinate, conduct, and analyze all weekly, monthly, and annual admission reports (including monthly and annual reports from admission events and recruitment efforts).
Manage Admissions budget and oversee recruitment and vendor spending.
Set high customer delivery standards for the Admissions staff.
Working with Admissions Operations to manage day-to-day office operations while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Coordinate and supervise training sessions, manage the admissions file reading process, and track applicant contacts.
Stay informed about industry best practices for communication and implement innovative strategies where applicable.
REQUIREMENTS: The person selected will have the following qualifications:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master's preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
5 or more years experience in admissions or a sales-related environment
At least 4 years of experience in a managerial position
Experience working with Slate CRM or similar
Mastery knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to multitask, good communication skills, ability to trouble shoot and problem solve, decision making skills, project management skills, well organized, data driven and analytical skills
