About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Director of Accounting to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and driving financial strategy to support the company's growth objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, strong leadership skills, and the ability to optimize financial processes using modern accounting technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the accounting department of 4, overseeing day-to-day operations and long-term strategic initiatives
Ensure compliance with GAAP, ASC 606, and other relevant accounting standards and regulations
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
Manage the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Lead the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making and strategic planning
Optimize the use of QuickBooks Online and other accounting software to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting
Manage cash flow, including forecasting, monitoring, and optimizing working capital
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the accounting department
Mentor and develop accounting team members, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and support cross-functional initiatives
Stay current with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and industry best practices
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience implementing ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other accounting software
Excellent understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Experience managing and optimizing accounting operations in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
Experience with QuickBooks Online.
